The Plan of Operations
of the Association, requires the Association to assess member companies
for the total amount necessary to cover the projected budget of
the Association, including anticipated claim and expenses that are
expected to exceed the projected premium and investment income of
the Association for the calendar year.
Assessments are apportioned among member companies in the proportion
that net direct written premium of each member company for the preceding
year bears to the aggregate net direct written premium by all member
companies.
Each year, the New
Jersey Department of Banking and Insurance collects market share
data and provides the Association with a listing of the Member's
Participation percentages. Companies are encouraged to download
this information for their permanent records. The Association plans
to discontinue mailing the Member's Participation Listings after
December 31, 2001.
